Purses With a Purpose

Purses With a Purpose is a wonderful program at Faith Community Center that focuses on mentoring young people and giving back to the community. Each purse is a little cosmetic bag packed with self-care and hygiene items specifically for student-aged girls attending local schools. These bags are lovingly put together by other youth or young adults.

 

Throughout the school year, these bags are donated to local school offices and girls town, so any girl who might need a little extra help can easily find one. While some school districts are not mandatory to provide period supplies, we’ve stepped in to help bridge that gap and ensure everyone has what they need.

 Borrow & Return Life Jacket Stands

Faith Community Center is grateful for the Sea Tow Foundation Grant!

The barrow and return life jacket program has been  one of our first youth mentorship and community give‑back programs. Together, we help spread water safety awareness across Belleville Lake by offering free, borrow‑and‑return life jackets for boaters and families. The grant has sent us life jackets to help us maintain this program for Belleville Lake.

Faith Community Center and young adults maintain all five life jacket stands and boxes along Belleville Lake. Each stand is stocked with life jackets to ensure everyone can enjoy the water safely.

From May through September, our youth mentorship program volunteers take the lead in restocking, inspecting, and maintaining these stands—building responsibility, leadership, and community pride.

This program reflects our commitment to keeping our community safe while teaching our youth the value of service.

We are proud to support local youth by offering free life skills programs during the summer and free afterschool tutoring during the school year.

We are committed to prepare  young individuals with the tools they need to succeed.

We are excited to share our community garden to the community that honors veterans and seniors with raised garden beds.
